Juanita Farmhouse Cottages

The Juanita Farmhouse Cottages are the inspiration of Kim Saunders and Michelle Beebe.  With all of their kids gone, they wanted to downsize but did not want to leave their beloved property and neighborhood.  Under the 2004 Cottage Housing Ordinance in Kirkland, WA they were able to build 8 cottages, a Community Building (The Barn) and a condo above The Barn on their one acre lot.  The cottages are 1500 Square Feet with three bedrooms and 2+ baths each, a single car garage and a large storage unit.  The homes are all 5-Star Built Green and the development is a Built Green Community.  They are heated and cooled with Geothermal, wired for solar, the kitchen islands are inlaid with the few trees that were removed from the property.  They all have electric appliances (including European inspired induction stove top) and the 9000+Sq.Ft. community spaces include a fenced pet area, gardens, benches and a large fire pit.   The Barn has a large kitchen, laundry room, separate bathrooms and a huge great room and covered patio for entertaining.
